Mr. Don Roberts has over 35 years of project development and leadership experience applying proven engineering and certification processes to achieve airworthiness certification. He possesses specialized technical expertise in both military and civil certification, with a demonstrated record of successfully leading airworthiness and design engineers through the airworthiness certification process. As a systems engineering expert, Mr. Roberts has additional experience in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering and management, and quality assurance. He is a former Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR), two term Lockheed Martin Engineering Technical Fellow for airworthiness and airworthiness certification, and co-founder of the Association of Airworthiness Professionals (AAP).
Significant Career Accomplishments
Served two terms as Lockheed Martin (LM) Engineering Technical Fellow for Airworthiness and Airworthiness Certification providing technical expertise and consultation to LM US and international programs.
Authored and published LM aeronautics airworthiness procedures in addition to evaluating program compliance from early proposal to final certification; led development and implementation of the LM Airworthiness Tool designed to manage airworthiness for all LM military and civil programs.
Led successful implementation of the Dassault 3D Experience (3DX) for airworthiness use on a developmental program.
Served as the LM corporate representative on the Airworthiness Defense Industry Advisory Group (ADIAG) to the US Air Force (USAF) Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA). Also served 17 years as an FAA DAR supporting multiple civil programs.
Served six years on the Baylor University School of Engineering and Computer Science Board of Advocates providing guidance, support, and industry perspective.
