Michael Gill has over 35 years of US Air Force (USAF) and Department of Defense (DOD) acquisition experience with an emphasis in contracting, program management services and sustainment. He served as senior leader at multiple Centers, Major Headquarters (HQ) and at the DoD level and has executive experience developing and leading strategic initiatives, formulating policy, purchasing and supply chain management, healthcare services acquisition, source selection authority, contract approval authority, executive resource management, and workforce development. Senior Executive Service (SES), Department of the Air Force (DAF) (retired).

Significant Career Accomplishments

  • Senior civilian leader for over 83,000 personnel managing $60B annually, executing critical warfighter support mission through leading edge science and technology, cradle-to-grave life cycle weapon systems management, developmental test and evaluation, and world-class depot maintenance and supply chain management.

  • Responsible for oversight of AFMC $160B services acquisition portfolio and served as source selection authority (SSA) for selected acquisitions.

  • Led the Command in transforming installation acquisition support across the USAF enabling strategic sourcing of $15B of annual spend with expected savings of $2.3B.

  • First civilian leader for the newly established AFLCMC following most significant MAJCOM reorganization in 21 years, reducing overhead by $109M per year.

  • Led the organizational transformation of the TRICARE program from 11 TRICARE regions to 3, ensuring no loss or interruption of care for beneficiaries in the region, and, in coordination with the managed care support contractor and military treatment facilities, developed a robust business plan and pool of healthcare providers.
