General Mike Kingsley has over 30 years of experience including over 20 years as a senior manager of aerospace and defense organizations ranging in size from 30 to 3,000 professionals, culminating as the Chief of Staff for US Africa Command (US AFRICOM) and vice president for a defense company. He is an exceptional leader and team builder with superb organizational, people, and communication skills and is proven in combat and now supporting the warfighter in industry.

Significant Career Accomplishments

  • As Chief of Staff for US AFRICOM, faced with 20% overall reduction in staff, orchestrated the integration and organizational changes that supported a highly efficient process maximizing the focus on the command priorities over the next 10 years.

  • Led the implementation of the CV-22 and remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) fielding plan for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) despite ongoing combat operations. The result was increased production of aircrew by over 50% and greater worldwide combat capability by 25%.

  • As vice commander of the 17,000-person AFSOC, directed the realignment of over $500M in contracts when faced with budget shortfalls. Led a comprehensive assessment of cost, schedule, performance, and alignment of priorities.

  • As vice president of global government relations, established the international and US program oversight for a major foreign military sale (FMS) valued at over $250M.

  • As Inspection Agency Commander, led the USAF’s efforts to solve the nuclear inspection training shortfall. Conducted critical analysis to determine the optimal requirement. Developed an initial program within six months, growing it USAF-wide in one year. Gained Secretary of the Air Force (SECAF) approval for immediate implementation.

  • Faced with urgent requirements to support Iraq and Afghanistan operations, developed an integration plan that synchronized capabilities of different aircraft to support unique special operations missions, enabling a 200% increase in mission effectiveness within 6 months of implementation.
