In addition to the 2024 Aerospace & Defense Awards winners, the DBJ will also inaugurate the first class of the Dayton Military & Defense Hall of Fame. Among the inductees is former Dayton Aerospace executive vice president and current consultant, Lt. Gen. Thomas J. Owen, USAF (Retired).

“I’m honored to be named alongside local aerospace and defense leaders that I greatly respect.  Dayton Aerospace takes great pride in advancing national capability and making the Dayton area a premier aerospace and defense community.”

Coombs was named to the DBJ’s “Who’s Who in Aerospace and Defense” in 2023. In addition to leading Dayton Aerospace, he is the director of small business for the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Wright Brothers Regional Chapter and serves on the Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) board of directors and the USO Ohio/Michigan board of advisors.
