Navigating FAR Part 15: An Overview of Negotiated Contracts

Navigating FAR Part 15

Dayton Aerospace Vice President and National Contract Management Agency (NCMA) Fellow, Tom Wells, CFCM, will be presenting a two-hour, live, virtual training titled Navigating FAR Part 15: An Overview of Negotiated Contracts on June 19, 2024 from 2-4pm EDT.

DETAILS:

The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15 defines the required procedures for negotiating and awarding contracts. If you are used to buying or selling commercial goods or services, not governed by FAR Part 15, or new to federal contracting, the requirements can feel like unfamiliar territory. This deep dive will cover the full spectrum of solicitation, pricing, source selection, proposals, and negotiation procedures at an overview level, a necessary foundation to buy or sell in this space.

With a focus on how FAR Part 15 differs from the simplified requirements for commercial goods or services in FAR Part 12, participants will leave this session with a high-level understanding of what the requirements include to be able to speak knowledgeably about the process and pursue further, relevant training in each area.

Attendees will learn to:

  1. Navigate the FAR Part 15 Subparts

  2. Recognize areas of complexity

  3. Identify key areas where FAR Part 15 differs from FAR Part 12
